Highlights
- Launched in June 2003; current membership is 15.
- The
members had a gathering on April 6th to discuss next steps for
the group with an emphasis on leadership and accountability.
- David
Rubenstein T’70, Trustee, hosted the members and young
alumni leadership donors on October 17, 2005 at The Caucus Room.
- The
group raised $83,000 from DC young alumni in FY05 toward a goal
of $75,000.
- On April 28, 2005, the Duke Club of Washington
DC hosted an event for all young alumni in the DC metro area,
and it was co-sponsored by the Annual Fund and Alumni Affairs.
The event was held at the offices of Hogan and Hartson, and over
100 young alumni attended.
- On November 17, 2004, the
Council and Gary Stevenson T’78, P’08, National Leadership
Giving Chair, hosted an event in Washington DC to promote the
Council and young alumni leadership giving.
- Ann Pelham
T’74, Kimberly Jenkins T’76, G’77, G’80,
Trustee, and Jennifer Hillman T’79 hosted the 2004 spring
meeting.
- Judy Woodruff W’68, P’09, Trustee
Emerita, and Al Hunt P’09 hosted the inaugural event for
the Council in June 2003.
