On
October 3rd, the Council hosted an event for potential members,
volunteers, and the youngest alumni to promote the importance
of staying connected and consistent giving. The event was held
in one of the rooftop gardens in Rockefeller Center and over
100 young alumni attended. Jill Arnold T’97, Lauren Bogner
T’01, Keat Crown T’00, Amanda Segal T’99, and
Amy Shugar T’98, B’06 organized the event. At the
event, they spoke about Council involvement and Annual Fund support.
Each attendee received personal follow-up from a Council member.
Jane
Henderson T’87 hosted the 2006 spring meeting on June 14th.
The
group secured over $222,000 from New York young alumni for FY05.
Consequently, Peter Hauspurg T’75, P’08 contributed
$100,000 to the Annual Fund.
On November 18, 2005,
Peter Hauspurg and his business partner, Stu Gross T’75,
hosted an event for Council members at the offices of Eastern
Consolidated Properties. They spoke about their involvement at
Duke as well as about the field of commercial real estate.
On
September 23, 2005, Keat Crown, Kevin Marchetti, Jeremiah Norton,
and Rahul Vinnakota hosted a cocktail party in one of the rooftop
gardens in Rockefeller Center for members of the Class of 2000.
The event generated excitement for their upcoming 5th reunion
as well as promoted the Council. The attendees enjoyed the opportunity
to reconnect and reminisce as well as learn more about ways to
support and get involved with Duke.
