Volunteer Role Description
Parents’ Committee (non-alumni)
Duke Parents’ Committee is made up of non-alumni parents that will serve a one-year renewable term and will be asked to:
- Make their own leadership gift or pledge commitment (minimum of $1,000) early in the campaign
- Educate fellow Duke parents about the importance of supporting the Duke Annual Fund and helping reach the goals of the Parents’ Program
- Help build relationships between Duke parents and the university
- Report the results of contacts to the class co-chairs and the Parents’ Program director, and follow up with prospects as needed
- Follow up with prospects as suggested by the class co-chairs and Parents’ Program director
- Attend committee events during Parents’ and Family Weekend.
- New member training on Friday afternoon
- Gala reception on Friday evening
- Parents’ Committee annual business meeting on Saturday morning
- Attend regional events for Duke parents
