Volunteer Role Description
Young Alumni Peer Network
Bridging the gap between graduation and the 5th reunion, the Young Alumni Peer Network (YAPN) comprises Duke alumni who graduated within the last four years. The network exists to help ensure quality and excellence at Duke by creating a consistent sense of responsibility for lifelong giving to Duke.
Continuing the momentum built by the Senior Gift campaign, the Young Alumni Peer Network emphasizes the idea that every gift—no matter the size—is of great significance. The YAPN strives to increase donor numbers each year from the young alumni community, in order to keep them connected to the institution throughout their lives.
The YAPN experienced a record-breaking year in 2007-2008. Congratulations to the Classes of 2004-2007!
- With 28% participation, the Class of 2007 achieved the all-time highest participation rate for a first-year-out class. More than 128 donors donated in the final week of the campaign.
- With 25% participation, the Class of 2006 tied the all-time highest participation rate for a second-year-out class.
- With 30% participation, the Class of 2005 set the all-time highest participation record for any non-reunion young alumni class. The class also surpassed their participation goal of 25% and secured the all-time highest participation rate for a third-year-out class.
- With 18% participation, the Class of 2004 achieved the all-time highest participation rate for a fourth-year-out class.
